Tama HP200PTW Iron Cobra 200 Double Bass Drum Pedal

The Tama HP200PTW Iron Cobra 200 Double Bass Drum Pedal brings the feel and reliability of the Iron Cobra series to drummers looking for an affordable and dependable double pedal setup. Designed for smooth response and comfortable playability, it is a strong choice for players expanding into double bass techniques without jumping immediately into high-end hardware pricing.

Tama’s Iron Cobra pedals have built a longtime reputation among drummers because they feel stable, responsive, and durable under regular use. The HP200PTW continues that tradition with straightforward adjustability and a balanced playing feel that works across many styles of music.

Power Glide Feel with Double Pedal Control

The Iron Cobra 200 uses Tama’s Power Glide cam design, which adds a slightly accelerated feel through the pedal stroke. Many drummers prefer this style because it creates extra punch and attack while still maintaining control and smooth response.

For players developing double bass coordination, consistency between both pedals matters. The HP200PTW offers a connected feel that helps drummers build speed, timing, and endurance more naturally.

Built for Practice, Rehearsal, and Live Use

This double pedal is designed to handle everyday use, whether you are practicing at home, rehearsing with a band, recording, or playing live shows. It works well for newer double bass players while still offering enough reliability for experienced drummers needing a dependable setup.

• Double bass drum pedal configuration
• Power Glide cam design for added attack and response
• Smooth, balanced pedal action
• Adjustable settings for personalized feel
• Suitable for practice, rehearsal, recording, and live performance

Why Double Pedal Feel Matters

When learning or refining double bass technique, pedal consistency becomes especially important. Smooth linkage, balanced tension, and predictable rebound all affect comfort, speed, and timing behind the kit.

A well-built double pedal helps drummers focus on playing instead of fighting against uneven hardware response.

A Popular Option for Developing Drummers

The HP200PTW is often recommended for drummers stepping into double bass playing because it offers the trusted Iron Cobra feel without becoming overly complicated. It provides room for players to grow while remaining approachable and reliable for daily use.

For many drummers, it becomes a long-term part of their setup well beyond the beginner stage.
