Weighted hammer keyboard with velocity sensitivity

The DP-18’s weighted keyboard, with its real hammer action, simulates the feel of an acoustic piano with traditional action as authentically as possible. The 88 keys are characterized by a certain “natural” resistance when pressed, as is the case with classic acoustic pianos. The keyboard is also touch-sensitive, meaning the notes sound differently depending on how hard you press a key. To reliably protect the keyboard from dust, the DP-18 features a keyboard cover.

128-fold polyphony

Thanks to its 128-note polyphony, the electric piano can play up to 128 notes simultaneously. This repertoire of available tones allows the player to use voices from various musical genres, from classical to rock, even with stereo sound.

The selection of 128 high-quality sounds allows for different melodic accentuations while playing, thus creating completely different moods. Pianists can enjoy plenty of freedom for experimentation. From piano to organ to string sounds, the digital piano offers a selection of classic voices.

Automatic accompaniment with 600 styles

To ensure the DP-18 never gets boring, a full band or orchestra is always on hand to accompany the pianist. This is thanks to the integrated automatic accompaniment, which automatically adapts to the chords played with the left hand. The McGrey digital piano offers a total of 600 different styles in a wide variety of musical genres.

The “Dual” and “Split” functions

The “Dual” function allows you to layer two voices—for example, strings and piano—on top of each other, i.e., combine them. This allows you to easily create a particularly impressive, rich sound. “Split,” on the other hand, divides your keyboard into two separate sections. You can define these two sections individually, assign different voices, and thus, for example, play strings with your left hand and piano with your right.

Metronome and headphone jacks

To help you keep the correct beat and tempo while practicing, the DP-18 features a built-in metronome. Both the tempo and volume of the metronome can be adjusted to your liking. Furthermore, the DP-18 features two headphone jacks. These ensure you can practice and play at any time without disturbing your neighbors, for example. The second headphone jack lets you listen to your piano playing in silence.

The pedals “Soft”, “Sostenuto” and “Sustain”

The DP-18 digital piano, like an acoustic grand piano, offers three pedals that allow you to precisely influence the sound of the pieces you play. The soft pedal is located on the left and, like the sostenuto pedal in the middle, is played with the left foot. The sustain pedal on the right is typically used most frequently. It allows all notes to fade out, while the middle sostenuto pedal only extends previously played notes. The soft pedal on the left reduces the volume of the notes being played, creating a softer sound.
