Kustom Engineers took the great sounding Defender 5H and lifted the virtual hood to tweak its 5 Watt motor. The results were astonishing. The Defender 5 Hot Mod (Defender 5HMOD) is made for vintage tube amp tone. Ceramic capacitors were upgraded with polyester film and electrolytic styles. Larger cap values allow more bottom end and more gain. The Defender 5HMOD has a livelier tone that is harmonically rich. With a better sounding distortion that delivers like older tweed and British style amps with much more note bloom that you expect only in boutique or vintage amps. To dial in the Hot Mod sound we put “chicken head” vintage style knobs on the Bass Response and Volume controls.

The Kustom Defender 1×12 is a solidly constructed guitar speaker cabinet with a single Kustom 12-inch speaker. It is an open-back cabinet design that utilizes a plywood baffle board for enhanced tone and resonance.

The Defender 1×12 is a solidly constructed extension cabinet with a single 12″ Kustom speaker. Its open back cabinet design and plywood baffle enhance both the tone and resonance. The Defender 1×12 handles 30 watts RMS and is rated at 16 ohms. The Kustom Defender 1×12 speaker cabinet can produce rich, articulate clean tones and is designed to handle any overdriven signals. The Defender 1×12 speaker cabinet is a great match for the Defender 5H MOD Class A tube guitar head.
